The National Library! This name has stupendous meaning in every country. The National library saves all of the most important and main cultural heritage of our country. “Leninka” has all about Russia and post Soviet Union in Russia. Congress Library of USA saves up innumerable wealth of book. works distinguished scientists of the world come to Britain Library in London, because there are the rarest information practically all about. The library of Fransua Mitterana in Paris is one of the world's wonders, which is pride of France.

It's a five year anniversary of National Academic Library of RK. I'm sure that NABRK will be one of the best libraries of the world. Why? Because library has such personal which makes wonderful things. When I come to this beautiful place in north side of Astana, I surprise again and again and think how magnificent the National Library is. I saw many libraries in my life and worked there (in Moscow, Washington, London, Berlin and Paris), that's why it is important for me that our library is so beautiful and comfortable.

Of course, I understand that in order to make great strides in the National Library, we should put in great work to this treasure, it needs of energies, resources, fantasies, imaginations, knowledge and ability, power, ardour and conviction. And I can say with confidence that it will be soon. Director General of the National Library is Rosa Berdgalieva who is full of energy and passion.

Once I made sure of her authority among the world culture. Not long ago “Madam Berdigalieva” visited to France by invitation of France government. The most powerful officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of France tried to win her favor, because she has great name and influence among the National libraries of the world, her knowledge and ability had recognized by specialists. She is a star of the librarian's world. She had made a difficult work, she started from scratch of the National Academic Library of Republic of Kazakhstan. I think this was an uneasy and fearfully for her. But look our library today! The building of library penetrate high tech and internet, there is amiability and friendly atmosphere to readers and visitors, preciosity in interior design, sun shining and pleasure atmosphere. All of this worth respect and delight!

Do you understand now why I gave my three thousand books with ease and gladly?

Because, I want that the National library will be pride of our nation. I'm very glad to take a part of grateful work, because I know my books will be at library, on hand of the trusted people. They won't stay on dark shelf and dust, they will work bringing a benefits and gladness to people. My library is very specific: this is a film director's library. There are many books of art, history of culture, philosophy, aesthetic… There are so many books which can be interesting to enclave. It is remarkable because of these books are in the National library. Any library is good when it satisfies even the one order by one special book.

Now I want to mark a little about my books. I started to collect books when I was 13 years old. I remember an acquirement of every book: when and where from I get it. Also I remember how much the books made me pleasant. These books educated me, gave me knowledge, they helped me when I had a hard time, developed my imagination and showed how to work and to achieve maximum result.

Among these books have famous names, also completely particular books which are not so known, but they are excellent too. Let's read the book of Egor Driansko ‘Zapiski melkotravchetogo', you will shock as me of the greatness and beauty of small novel. Let's listen to the Ksenie Nekrasova's poetry with her portrait on execution of Falka. You can read first version of the novel “War and Peace” by Tolstoy (when heroes of the book called otherwise, and the structure was fresh and trembling) and you understand that Tlostoy's greatness concludes of his simplicity. Read the play of the experimental theatre and you will enjoy depth and passion of main construction of new drama. I can tell you about these books during hours and I'm sure the National Library is a right place for them.

I wish to the National Library many of the wonderful events, curious readers and enthusiastic visitors among which I will be also.
