One of the priority directions of NABRK activities is international cooperation development. Being a part of world library and information space NABRK participates in international library events conducted in the frame of domestic and foreign professional organizations. Such work promotes development of international ties and cooperation of NABRK specialists with professional library communities of other countries. With the purpose of consolidating cooperation, Agreements on partnership with Russian State Library, National Libraries of Iran, Belarus, Uzbekistan, Moldova, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Georgia, National Parliament Library of Ukraine, Egyptian National Library and Archives, and Bibliotheca Alexandrina were signed. NABRK Participation in International Organizations Work
· International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA) · Conference of Directors of National Libraries (CDNL) · BAE (Library Assembly of Eurasia) NABRK in a Big Library World On 14-15 October, 2010, V Forum of creative and scientific intelligentsia of CIS countries took place in Moscow State Institute of International Relations. Director General of the National Academic Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan Shaimukhanbetova Zh.K. participated in that forum. * * * On 1-5 October, 2010, annual International conference “Issyk Kul – 2010” took place in Kirgizia. Deputy Head of Scientific-Analytical Center Nuralinova K.Kh. and Head of Automation Department Beszhanov K.S. participated in that conference. The aim of the trip was to get acquainted with colleagues work on developing librarianship in CIS countries, experience exchange. * * * Specialist of NAB RK “American Corner” Agzamova N.M. participated in conference “Strengthening and Support of American Corners” which was held on 11-13 August 2010 in Almaty. * * * On 10 - 15 August, 2010, World Library and Information Congress: IFLA 76 General Conference and Assembly “Open Access to Knowledge: Promoting Sustainable Progress” was conducted in Gothenburg, Sweden. Head of Center of Reading Culture Isakanova G.B., Head of Scientific-Analytical Center Valiulina M.B., Head of World Literature Sector Yermekpayeva T.G. participated in that congress. * * * In June 2010, Head of Sector of Collection Acquisition Department of NAB RK Abdrakhmanova A.M. had training programme on topic “Modern Approaches to Organization and Maintenance of Library Activity: Problems, Searches, Prospects” in Omsk city. Also, there were signed Agreement on participation in project “Kazakhstan National Electron Library (KazNEB)” and Agreement on international book exchange between National Academic Library of RK and Omsk State Oblast Research Library by name of A.S.Pushkin (ONUB) in Omsk. According to the Agreement, Russian library will give electron copies of books with information about Kazakhstan to KazNEB collections. Thus, ONUB became the first foreign participant of KazNEB project. * * *
On 21 - 29 June, 2010, the following library events were held in the US capital, Washington, DC – two meetings of World Digital Library (WDL, Library of Congress) and annual conference of the American Library Association (Washington Conference Center). Director General of NABRK Otarbayev R.K. and Deputy Head of Electronic Resources Management Department Amerkhanova Z.Zh. took part in the events. * * * On April 22, 2010, grand opening of the “American Corner” was held in the National Academic Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan. “American Corners” in Kazakhstan is a joint project of the US Embassy and receiving library. The aim of the “American Corners” programme is informing and attracting Kazakhstan audience. * * * On April 14-16, 2010, the Fifth All-Russian Theoretical and Practical Conference (the Fifth Methodological Seminar on UDC) on the topic “Methods of Using and Improving of Universal Decimal Classification” was conducted in Moscow, in the All-Russian Institute of Scientific and Technical Information, Russian Academy of Sciences. Specialist of Electronic Catalog Service of NAB RK Yelusizova Sh.S. participated at the conference. The main aim of the business trip was training in the field of systematization of fundamental sciences by UDC system, study of changes and additions to UDC, discussion of complicated issues of UDC systematization. * * * On 15-30 March, 2010, a group of NAB RK specialists had a study course in Egypt which was organized by the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Egypt and Egyptian Foundation on Technical Cooperation with CIS Countries. Kazakhstani librarians had the study course on the base of leading libraries of Egypt. |
