More than thirty paintings are devoted to mysterious night bird – Owl (two of them are at the current exhibition – “Love”, “Dance”). “There is some mysteriousness in these oldest forest inhabitants. “It seems that an owl hides century-long secret. Not without reason owl is called wise in tales, - Karlygash says. – My owls mean human relations. As far as human relations are different, my owls are different: expressive and quiet, abstract and real, veiled and open; they mean people with their strangeness and feelings”. For instance, in “Orange Night”, a mystical owl looks through heavy greenery by flash of orange lightning reflected on its feathers, owl-mother and curious owlet hanging head first, the “Caucasus elders gathering”. Exhibition visitors will remember night bird's huge clever eyes for a long time after looking at paintings of “Owls” series. This glance in the soul will force a person to make soul-searching.
Karlygash Kanseit is a many-sided artist. There are many genres in her painting collection. They are landscapes, portraits, everyday genre. A creative person certainly pays attention to the nature of native land. How can artist paint nature of Southern Kazakhstan without mountains? They are beautiful and majestic. Famous poet told, “Better than mountains are only mountains”. Landscapes are poetic and unique. Karlygash has her own style, her original vision of the world which makes a person stop near her paintings and reflect upon feelings and relations. Fortunate combination of sky-blue and emerald green colors is usual painting technique, but each artist performs it originally. Karlygash's landscapes are stylized: mountains, rocks, sky, trees are depicted with big strokes. Perhaps, color palette seems poor but it combines with full completeness of the works. It expresses the artist's idea. She wants to show power, greatness, and magnificence of the mountains with these strokes. Blue and dark-blue colors add inimitable shining and almost perceived cold of eternal glaciers.
Karlygash never stops at a reached point of choosing theme, style, technique, and coloring. She always experiments, all her works are joined with her spirit. It is obvious in series of creative works, such as “Bride”, “Owl”, “Zhungarian Mountains”, “Garden of Life”. Karlygash follows principle of creating without suspension.
35 paintings are presented at the exhibition “Color Symphonies”, among them are “Gate to Turkestan”, “Cloud”, “River of Life”, “Garden of Life”, triptych “Three Periods of the XX Century”, “Birth”, “Garden of Wonders”.
Exhibition “Color Symphonies” runs till May 1, 2009.
