The National Academic Library of RK became equal in rights participant of the project World Digital Library(http://www.wdl.org/ru/), the opening of which was on 21st of April, 2009 in Paris Headquarter of the United Nations Organization on education, science and culture (UNESCO). World Digital Library – is the joint project of the Library of congress of the USA, UNESCO and more than 30 global partners.
There was signed the agreement on the May between Library of Congress of the USA and the National Academic Library of RK. In accordance with this agreement there will be given electronic copies of 17 books in Kazakh and Russian languages to the collections of World Digital Library. These are the rare books, issues of past years about the history of our land. It is really appropriately. The task of librarians is to preserve a book in a full volume and give it to the next generation.
Participation of NABRK in World Project is major contribution to the development of Kazakh content in the world information space.
