On January 22, 2010, presentation of book “Altai. Altyn Besik, Ata Zhurt” took place in the National Academic Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Its author is Alibek Askarov, a well-known writer, Honored Worker of Kazakhstan, Laureate of State Award, prosaist, essayist.
Book “Altai. Altyn Besik, Ata Zhurt” is published by publishing house “Foliant” and is a diary of traveler. The author overcomes obstacles put by nature in people's way. And reader, likes it or not, “subjugates” mountain peaks, “crosses” passes, “gets over” impetuous waters together with the author; makes the acquaintance of Altai inhabitants, rejoices with them. Dividing the book into chapters “Kokkol”, “Shyndygatai”, “Muztau”, the author describes colorfully and vividly unique beauty of nature which he met on his way. Although, some writers and poets lauded native land's nature in their works before, it will be fair to call the book “Altai. Altyn Besik, Ata Zhurt” as the first book in Kazakh literature history which was written in safari style.
The book attracts reader not only with interesting narration but with photo illustrations which were made during traveling of the author and his team-mates. This book is designated for elder and young generation loving their homeland. We believe that it will rank highly in libraries of true connoisseurs of creation and nature-lovers.
