Agreement on Cooperation between the Assembly of the Nation of Kazakhstan and the Assembly of the Nations of Tatarstan of the Russian Federation

On January 26, 2010, signing of Agreement on Cooperation between the Assembly of the Nation of Kazakhstan and the Assembly of the Nations of Tatarstan of the Russian Federation took place in the National Academic Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Tugzhanov E.L., Deputy Chair, Head of the ANK Secretariat, signed the Agreement in the name of the Assembly of the Nation of Kazakhstan. Mukhametshin F.Kh., Chair of the Council of ANT, the Speaker of Parliament of the Republic of Tatarstan of the Russian Federation, signed the Agreement in the name of the Assembly of the Nations of Tatarstan.

RK Parliament Mazhilis deputies from the Assembly, heads of Tatar and Tatar-Bashkir ethnic-cultural associations of Kazakhstan, and mass media representatives participated at the event. Deputy Chair of the Council of the RF Assembly of the Nations of Tatarstan, Executive Secretary of the journal “Our Home – Tatarstan” Dzhaksybayev S.K. participated at the meeting for acquaintance with Kazakhstan model of interethnic tolerance.

The Agreement presupposes collaboration on the whole range of directions in the area of intercultural, educational, and scientific interaction, exchange of operational experience on implementing state national policy, strengthening interethnic concord and tolerance.

During the meeting, there were discussed issues of further implementation of the Agreement, elaboration of additional activities specifying basic directions of joint activity, and also constructive exchange of views on urgent aspects of bilateral collaboration in cultural sphere took place.

The meeting participants expressed an opinion that signing of joint Agreement would make a significant contribution in strengthening of cooperation and partner relations between states in the sphere of ensuring of interethnic and interconfessional concord, promotion of civil values and intercultural dialogue.
