Opening of Year of Germany in Kazakhstan

Books of N. Nazarbayev in German

On 3 February, action of books donation timed to opening of Year of Germany in Kazakhstan took place in the National Academic Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Federal Republic of Germany Onzhanov N.B. granted books to NABRK. Among the books there are books of N.A.Nazarbayev “In the Heart of Eurasia”, “The Kazakhstan Way”, and “Epicenter of Peace” published in German language, and also books of Kazakhstan writers: selected poems of Abai, “Daughters-in-law Riot” of M.Auezov, T.Akhtanov “Dala Syry”, A.Nurpeisov “Songy Paryz”, A.Kekilbayev “Munara Nemese Anyzdyn Akyry”, O.Suleimenov “Minute of Silence At the World's End”, G.Belger “House of Wanderer”. Altogether 65 books of 13 names were presented to the library. These books are published in the frame of project “Kazakh Library” which operates at the Embassy of RK in FRG. In future, the Embassy intends to continue good tradition of mutual cultural enrichment. It is planned to publish M.Auezov's novel-epopee “Way of Abai” and I.Yesenberlin's novel “Nomads” in German language.

New books in German language will undoubtedly promote spreading of Kazakhstan history and literary heritage of Kazakh nation in German language, attracting of library readers to study German language, assisting cultural exchange between Kazakhstan and Germany.

The following persons participated in the action of donation: Tauekelov S.B., Head of Department of Regional Development and Libraries of Committee on Culture, Ministry of Culture and Information of RK; Usenbayev Zh.B., First Deputy Director General of NABRK; A.Sarkanis, Ambassador of the Republic of Latvia in RK; A.Tarazi, People's Writer of Kazakhstan; Gellert N.V., member of Committee on International Affairs, Defense and Security, Mazhilis of Parliament of RK; Antanas Pyatrauskas, Minister-Counselor of Embassy of Lithuania in Astana. The guests in their speeches mentioned that events of Year of Germany in Kazakhstan would define priorities of prospective mutual partnership of two countries.
