On February 5, 2010, reporting back meeting on 2009 sums took place in the National Academic Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The following persons participated in the meeting: Head of Department of Regional Development and Libraries, Committee on Culture, Ministry of Culture and Information of RK Tauekelov S.B., People's Writer of Kazakhstan Akim Tarazi, and Director General of the National Academic Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan Otarbayev R.K.
Results of NABRK work in year under review were read in the report of Deputy Head of Research-Organizational Centre Nuralinova K.Kh. On 01.01.2010, number of NABRK readers amounted 20003. By readers category, students and school children are the most active, their number was 11314 (56,5%) from the total number of visitors; it is pleasant to mention that number of scientific and technical workers increased from 2277 in 2008 to 2520 in 2009. On the beginning of 2010, total units number of library collection came to 654341 copies including 145842 copies in the state language.
Chief economist Aitkazinova A.M. familiarized the staff with disbursement of NABRK budget for 2009. Survey “NABRK as Methodological Centre of Librarianship” was prepared by Head of Scientific-Analytical Centre Valiulina M.B. Scientific secretary Isakhanova G.B. made presentations of journal “Kitap Patshalygy” and book “Bir El' – Bir Kitap”. Deputy Director General Sarsembinova A.N. familiarized with new project “TELELIFT”. Group leaders Yermekpayeva T.G. and Bayanova Z.S. spoke on topics “NABRK in Library Community” and “NABRK by Eyes of the Public”. NOC specialist Utegenova Zh.A. familiarized with basic tasks of NABRK in 2010.
Director General of NABRK Otarbayev R.K. made a closing speech at the reporting back meeting. He spoke about necessity for NABRK specialists to improve their professional skill, participate in different seminars and trainings aimed at exchange of experience, and also introduce new technologies and conduct cultural-enlightener activities which aim is to give access to spiritual heritage of Kazakh people, train patriotism and civicism of readers. Director General thanked the staff for the work done in 2009, wished professional advance and creative successes.
Resolution on the NABRK staff reporting back meeting was passed.
