Research reading room is opened in the National Academic Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan. It serves researchers, lecturers, doctoral candidates, postgraduate students, and all who is engaged in research work.
Aim of the project is to help research specialists and interested persons in effective carrying out of scientific works.
Research reading room collection includes more than three hundred dissertations of Kazakhstan scientists, more than six thousand author's abstracts of Kazakhstan and Russian scientists. There are different reference books, it is provided online access to full dissertations and author's abstracts texts of Electron library, dissertations of Russian State library, information resources of such Databases as “Integrum” (full-text Russian central and regional press, press of CIS countries, coverage depth 10 years), “East View” (journals on social sciences and humanities, medicine and health care, librarianship and information service), “Polpred. Economics of 230 countries”, “ProQuest Digital Dissertations and Theses” (foreign full-text dissertations).
Readers are given access to Internet, possibility to work on notebook, documents copying and scanning in the research reading room. Besides, there is apparatus for reading microfilms and microfiches. The exhibition “Science of Kazakhstan” is opened. In the sequel, organization of other exhibitions, conduction of seminars, Days of Information, and Days of Researchers is planned.
Project of research reading room is realized due to charitable programme “Gylymi Kyzmetkerlerge Arnalgan Zaldyn Ashyluy” of JSC “Accept-Terminal”.
