On April 7, 2010, opening of exhibition “Tarazynyn Eki Basyn Ten Ustaityn Tarazi” devoted to creativity of State Prize Laureate, Honoured Worker of Kazakhstan, writer Akim Tarazi took place in the National Academic Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The exhibition was opened by Otarbayev R.K., Director General of NAB RK, well-known writer, playwright, Honoured Worker of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Akim Tarazi was congratulated with exposition opening by Senator Omirbek Baigeldy, prominent writers and public figures Myrzatai Zholdasbekov, Fariza Ungarsynova, Dukenbai Doszhan, Tolen Abdikov, Sauytbek Abdrakhmanov.
At the exhibition, there were presented Akim Tarazi's books, newspaper and magazine publications, photos and documents from writer's personal archive. S.Mukhamediyarova, specialist of Centre on Cultural Programmes and Exhibitions, conducted interesting and informative exposition roundup.
Akim Tarazi wrote such novels as “Way to Black Rose”, “Zhaza” (“Retribution”), “Moscow-Balasaz”, “Taszhargan”, “Nest in Clouds”, “Blue Cradle”, collected stories “Comet”, “Big Aul”, “Pass Over Pass”, plays “Non-funny Comedy”, “Good Man”, “Lucky Buken”, film scenarios “Traces Leave Behind Horizon”, “Shot on Karash Pass”, “Sound Tomtom”, “Mustafa Shokai”, and “Leila's Prayer” based on Rosa Mukanova's narrative. Some Tarazi's books are translated into Russian, Chinese, English, Hungarian, and Finnish languages. He is decorated with “Kurmet” order.
Now Akim Urtayevich is a head of Astana branch of Kazakhstan Writers' Union, he delivers lectures on “Secrets of Creation. Workshop of Akim Tarazi” in Kazakh National University of Arts. Long creative ties connect well-known writer with NAB RK. Akim Urtayevich has been Deputy Chair of Organizational Committee of Action “One Country – One Book” since 2007, he is guest of honour at the events conducted in the library.
As for creative projects, a new novel of Akim Tarazi “In the Shade of Protuberance” was published in “Audarma” publishing house in 2009. The first volume of the novel “Mustafa Shokai” was published that year.
