Action “One Country – One Book”
Press-conference Devoted to Announcement of the Book of the Action “One Country – One Book”
On 21 May, 2010, press-conference devoted to announcement of the book of the Action “One Country – One Book” took place in the musical hall of the National Academic Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Head of Department of Administrative Work, Committee on Culture, Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Moldabergenova Zh.S., NAB RK Director General Otarbayev R.K., People's writer of Kazakhstan, Laureate of the State Prize, Chair of the Organizing Committee of the Action “One Country – One Book” Fariza Ungarsynova, Laureate of the State Prize, Honored Worker of Kazakhstan Akim Tarazi participated at the press-conference. Teachers of the Kazakh language and literature of Astana city, students of oblast specialized boarding school №2 for gifted children of Astana city – “Daryn”, librarians, and journalists were invited to the press-conference.
The fourth Action “One Country – One Book” will be held traditionally at the end of September. The project's aim is to promote a book, high status of the Kazakh literature, moral-patriotic upbringing of youth, and also their involvement to reading, to library. This year, Zh.Moldagaliev's poem “Men Kazakhpyn” – “I Am Kazakh” has been selected as a book of the project by the organizing committee's decision.
It was noted in speeches of press-conference participants that Zhuban Moldagaliev's poem “I Am Kazakh” published in 70s of last century was a proud statement about his nation. And today, when Kazakhstan is on the threshold of its 20th anniversary of independence, poem “I Am Kazakh” hasn't lost its topicality, it raises the national spirit and encourages strengthening of civil society.
Libraries are centers of conducting the Action. The Action involves educational institutions, military units, and disabled readers also will participate in the Action. More than 700 events will take place in the state libraries of Kazakhstan. Meetings, talks, “round tables”, reading marathons, exhibitions which will be directed to opening of Zh.Moldagaliev's poem “I Am Kazakh”, substantiation of its place and meaning in the author's creative work, and spiritual heritage of Kazakhstan people as a whole.
Poem “I Am Kazakh” aroused active response among participants of the press-conference. Students of the school “Daryn” Yerasyl Kasykbayev and Aidos Suleimankulov recited fragments of the poem. School teachers and librarians told about great importance of the work of Zhuban Moldagaliev in patriotic upbringing of young generation, about significance of the Action in studying Kazakh literature. It was given information on events in oblast and rayon libraries. Besides, suggestions on opening special rubric “Action “One Country – One Book” on radio and TV, on issue of disks with recorded poem “I Am Kazakh” were put forward.
Summarizing materials of previous actions, NAB RK published collection “Bir Yel – Bir Kitap”. It included articles, speeches, interviews of F.Ungarsynova, A.Kekilbayev, G.Yesim, R.Nurgali, T.Zhurtbai, and others. The collections were distributed to journalists at the press-conference. A book exhibition “Men Kazakhpyn” has been organized in the library especially for the Action.
Journalists from 12 mass media participated at the press-conference: TV – “Kazakhstan”, “Era TV”, “Astana TV”, “Asyl Arna”, Information Agency “Kazinform”, Kazakh radio and radio “Astana”, magazine “Astana”, newspapers “Nur Astana”, “Alash Ainasy”, “Kazakhstanskaya Pravda”, “Dat”.
