In 2004 there was Governmental order about creation of National Academic Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan. In the same year the action " Book treasures for Astana " which attracted attention and found hot support of many people has begun. Everyone wanted to make contribution on formation of unique library fund. Libraries of Kazakhstan presented invaluable book: National Library RK (Almaty), the Presidential Center of culture, publishing houses, higher educational institutions of the country, scientists, politicians, deputies, private persons. The contribution was made by embassies of Russia, Great Britain, Japan, Germany, Ukraine, Georgia and India.

On 01.01.09 - gift books in funds of NABRK total 232850 copies.

2005 – 158642 copies.

2006 – 29794 copies.

2007 – 26387 copies.

2008 (first half year) – 18027 copies.

Within the limits of the project " People and books ", carrying out by Goethe-institute Almaty and National Academic Library RK, more than 500 books in German were presented. The subjects of the literature are various: political science, art, architecture. Readers may use this literature in the German information reading center of Goethe-nstitute which is located in the hall of world literature in NABRK.

As a token of gratitude to the Kazakh people for the help, hospitality which has been rendered to Ingushs, Chechens and other people during deportation in 1944, the delegate of the international humanitarian mission, professor Magomed Malsagov presented books from his personal library. It was full assembly of rare books written about people of Caucasus, since the tenth century of our era.

Within the limits of the international Congress of reading (April, 2007.) russians presented NABRK more than two thousand books including the All-Russia State library of the foreign literature - 400 books, the State public scientific and technical library - 126 books, the State library on art - 752 books, Parliamentary library of Russia - 610 books, and also books from publishing house " Mir Dialogue " and the Russian subscription Agency " МК Periodica ".

Among the Kazakhstan publishing houses which have filled up funds of NAB RK in days of work of the International Congress of reading, it is possible to note publishing houses from Almaty "Arys", "Daik-press", "Zhazushi”,”Kazakparat”,”Olke”,”Oner”, " Raritet KZ ", "Foliant", "Economica", publishing house of Astana " Astana Damu 21 ", public fund " Musaget " (Almaty), " Dom knigi Abai " (the representative from "Atamura" corporation, Astana), " Institute of legislation " (Astana). Thus, from publishing houses of Kazakhstan in fund of NAB RK 900 books have been received. In total 17 publishing houses and book-selling organizations of Kazakhstan have taken part in the work of International Congress of reading.

Gift actions in the first half year of 2008.

On 21st of February, National Academic Library accepted honoured guest - director of National library and Archive of Iran, the Adviser on culture of Chairman of Islamic Republic Iran - mister Ali Akbar Ashari. In gift the honoured guest has presented library the book about the well-known people of Iran in Arabian language. Such book was presented to the president of Kazakhstan Nazarbayev N.A.

On 26^th of June, in the " Kogyldir " hall of National academic library, presentation of book of the academician of National academy of sciences ,professor, Honored worker of science and technics of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the adviser of the rector of Kazakhstan-British technical university Satubaldin S " Test in time ", took place.

Within the limits of presentation, academician Satubaldin presented NABRK more than 25 titles of actual works of the scientist published for last 15 years. These are monographies "Dragons" and "Tigers" of Asia - can snow leopard pass their ways "," the Asian crisis: reasons and lessons ", 6 volumes of the popular scientific edition of " World economic science, Names, Eurasia, Republic of Kazakhstan” series, textbooks, manuals, scientifically-practical developments of the author on vital topics of economy. These are original researches of activity of the academician, president of the International economic academy of Eurasia, including as the analysis of his works concerning to reforming economic, and new constructive offers of the scientist on its development. The special attention in S.Satubaldin's books is given to revealing of basic tendencies, laws and efficiency of economic processes from positions as the theorist, and the economist-expert. Also academician Satubaldin has given the author's consent to digitalization of his 9 books for the Kazakhstan National electronic library. Now works of the known academician will be accessible to each reader not only in our country, but also to all world information space and will promote accumulation of new knowledge by present and future generations.

On 9^th of July, of this year In National Academic Library the action of donation to capital libraries of academician Nadirova N.K., devoted to 10-th anniversary of Astana and presentation of his new book " the Difference in time " took place.

The desire to take part in celebrating the 10-th anniversary of Astana has led the academician to the decision to give it a gift; to present the second publicistic book of the scientist under the name " the Difference in time, or Historical turns: examination on decency ". His first book – “We are Kurds-people of Kazakhstan” published in 2003.

On presentation the author also presented proceedings. These are, first of all, five volumes of his monography " extra-heavy oil and natural bitumens " which was noted by the Premium named after K.I.Satpaeva of the first degree; collections of materials of five International scientific readings of Nadirov (the sixth is in press) - they already became tradition for the Kazakhstan science and an oil-and-gas complex of the country, new publications of the scientist on problems of renewable power, and also numbers of magazine " Oil and gas " - the academician is its editor-in-chief.

In total library received 178 copy of books and 45 copies of various numbers of magazine " Oil and gas ".

All these books and magazines are transferred in funds of National Academic Library, libraries of the Ministry of culture and information, Archive, libraries of the Presidential Center of culture, Mazhilis of Parliament, the Moscow State University, and also in the National Center " Otyrar kytapkhanasy " under ENU named after L.N.Gumileva, etc.

Also academician Nadirov N.K. has given the author's consent on digitalizing of his books. Soon works of the academician in electronic variant will appear in the Kazakhstan national electronic library.

On 10^th of July, the presentation of the book of known turkologist, researcher Shakh-Murat Kuanganov “Arii-gun” Through the centuries and space” took place in National academic library of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The book is published under financial support of National economic chamber of Kazakhstan " Atameken Union " within the limits of the social responsibility and business.

In the book of "Arii-gun" the historical way of migration of turk tribes is tracked on the basis of known toponyms. On the basis of archival materials the historical events of those years connected with name of Kir, Alexander the Great, Attila, known philosophers of ancient Ellia are reflected.

The book comes to the end with a statement of history of Kazakh khans, opens attitudes between Kazakh states of the past and feature of formation of Kazakh zhuzs.

The author of the book - is known turkologist, researcher Shakh-Murat Kuanganov has presented 10 copies of his books in fund of NAB RK. Users of library can read the new edition in reading halls.
